Five shoppers have won Dh50,000 each in the second raffle draw of the Eidiyat Dubai promotion.

Run by Dubai Shopping Malls Group, in association with Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment, an agency of the Department of Economic Development, the contest offered shoppers the chance to scoop Dh1 million in cash on a minimum purchase of Dh200 at any participating mall.

The coupons of Jerelie Anadio, from the Philippines, Al Sayed Mohammad, an Egyptian national, Ma’ab Essam, a Sudanese national, Salem Al Saady, an Emirati, and Khalifa Mohammad, were the lucky five among the thousands that entered in the second raffle draw held at 2am yesterday (Saturday) at the Oasis Centre.

With cash prizes of Dh500,000 handed out during the first and the second raffle draw, the Eidiyat Dubai promotion will reward 20 winners over a period of four draws.

“We are glad to see that the Eidiyat Dubai Promotion which is based on the concept of family togetherness has set a standard making Dubai a quintessential value shopping destination. Dubai has a mix of nationalities and this is evident in the different nationalities of the winners,” said Eisa Adam, Board of Directors, Dubai Shopping Malls Group (DSMG).

“This also signifies the popularity of the promotion and we expect the promotion to soar high in the days to come with the high inflow of tourists,” he added.

Dubai has been witnessing a major influx of tourists during Eid in Dubai, a trend that is expected to remain for at least the next couple of weeks due to an extended break being offered to residents in most of the GCC nations.

“Many visitors coming to Dubai are from the GCC countries and they are impressed by not just the quality of the products on sale but also the pricing and offers that come with their purchases,” said Tim Jones, COO at Arabian Centre and Lamcy Plaza.
