Abu Dhabi: A fire broke out at an apartment in the Tourist Club area of Abu Dhabi on Monday morning, civil defence officials said.
A man has been taken to hospital and is being treated for excessive smoke inhalation.
One room of the apartment, located on the third floor of the Al Khawarizmi Institute building, is completely gutted.
“There was a lot of smoke because the room had been partitioned. But no one has been seriously injured,'' an official said.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
