Dubai: UAE oil companies Enoc and Emarat on Sunday planted a tree in line with the Union Tree initiative announced by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to mark celebrations ahead of National Day on December 2. Private and public sector establishments are planting Union Trees this year to symbolise solidarity between the emirates of the UAE. Households and citizens have also been encouraged to participate in the campaign. The UAE is marking the 41st anniversary of its independence from Britian in 1971.
