Dubai: For Rizwan Abdul Qader there are no special rituals or practices to winning a million dollars. It’s all about being consistent.

The UK-based Indian national is Dubai Duty Free’s newest millionaire after his ticket no 2970 in series 150 was drawn during the Millennium Millionaire promotion. Qader, who gets to take home $1 million (Dh3.67 million), is Dubai Duty Free’s 150th millionaire in the event that has been running for the past 14 years.

“Whenever I am in Dubai, I buy a ticket,” he told Gulf News via a phone interview from London.

Qader is a regular participant in the draw and has had a ticket for each series.

After hearing about his win, he said: “What fantastic news after waiting for so many years. I always had a feeling that one day I would become a millionaire and am so excited that the day has finally come!”

He added that life for him is probably not going to change.

In the history of the Millennium Millionaire there have been three winners who proved especially lucky after winning the promotion twice.

Following the draw, Dubai Duty Free conducted the Finest Surprise draw and announced two winners including Danial Khezri, an Iranian living in Dubai who won a black Porsche 911 Carrera, and Jose Cornejo, a Filipino from Sharjah who won the latest model of a Ducati Superbike 848 EVO Corse SE.

The Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise draws were conducted by Dubai Duty Free officials headed by Colm McLoughlin, Executive Vice-Chairman of Dubai Duty Free.
