Dubai: An Asian man died last Wednesday after his vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle on Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road bound for Abu Dhabi near Dubai Silicon Oasis.
The rear-ended vehicle’s passenger was severely injured and was airlifted to the hospital, while the Emirati driver who hit the vehicle from the back, was moderately injured, as was his family of three and his two maids.
They were all taken to hospital for treatment.
Colonel Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Director of Dubai Traffic Police, said the operations room received the call about the accident at 6.15pm and police patrols, ambulances and an air ambulance were dispatched.
Col Al Mazroui said the accident was a result of the Emirati driver not leaving enough space between him and the vehicle in front of him.
