Ras Al Khaimah: Public health services here have received another blow with many staff taking up better-paid positions at a private hospital. Recently, four consultants at Saqr Hospital left. Their posts are still vacant.
Many patients have had their appointments postponed and have said they are suffering and the situation needs addressing.
Sources at the RAK Medical District confirmed the movement of some physicians from public hospitals to a private hospital, but they stressed the current conditions will be changed and the vacant posts will be filled very shortly.
The sources added the offers the Ministry of Health makes to its staff are non-negotiable.
