A court hearing a murder trial was told of a night club fight that ended in the death of one of the musicians performing there.

At Dubai Court of First Instance, it was alleged that Faysal J. D., a 24-year-old Iranian visitor, was watching an Iranian music group at a night club in Al Murraqabat area, when he went drunkenly on to the stage and began dancing.

While dancing he accidentally bumped in to Mihsen Ramadan Ali Jashme, a 31-year-old Kuwaiti musician with the band. A fight started between them which was stopped by security men who pulled Faysal out of the club.

After five minutes Faysal asked the nightclub's manager to let him in once again. The manager took him to his seat inside.

Later, Faysal headed for Mihsen, punched him several times in the face and then stabbed him several times in the chest with a pocket knife, it was alleged.

Mihsen fell to the floor severely injured and bleeding heavily. Faysal then ran from the nightclub, but police arrested him in his hotel bedroom.

They referred him to the General Prosecution where he is said to have confessed that he was drunk when he stabbed Mihsen with a sharp instrument. He denied, however, that he had killed him.

The criminal lab proved that Mihsen had died of several injuries to his chest caused by a sharp instrument. The court has ordered Faysal to be kept in custody until prosecution witnesses are summoned.
