Fujairah: A car crash in Dibba Al Hosn on Monday afternoon deprived a family of its sole breadwinner and six children of their mother.
The Emirati woman who died in the crash on the Dibba-Al Taween Road had just dropped off her eldest son for his first day at military college and was heading back from Sharjah to Dibba Fujairah when misfortune struck, Lieutenant Abdullah Al Khuzaimi, deputy director of the Dibba traffic police told Gulf News.
The victim, identified as R.S.M.S, leaves behind five boys and one girl. Ali, who was due to mark his start at Sharjah Military College, said: “My mother was the most wonderful and best woman in the world, she devoted all her life to make us good people.”
Ali added: “She used to be calm and keep all her sadness in her heart due to her beautiful nature.”
Lieutenant Al Khuzaimi said the operations room was alerted at around 12:15pm that a car had overturned on the road in the mountainous area of Wadi Fay.
Police patrols and an ambulance were immediately dispatched to the scene of the accident but the woman, from Dibba Al Hisn, had already died due to her severe injuries.
Police said the car crashed into concrete barriers after swerving off the road and rolled over several times before settling at a distance of 15 feet from the crash site.
The woman’s body was first taken to Dibba Hospital before being handed over to her family for the last rites.
According to her relatives, the crash occurred as R.S.M.S. was returning after dropping off her eldest son Ali, 18, at Sharjah Military college. They said she had been thrilled about the news.
The woman worked in a ladies club in the emirate and lived with her six children in a rented house. “She was the only earner of her family after she got divorced from her ex-husband a long time ago,” a relative said.
R.S.M.S. is survived by Ali, Khalifa, 17, Abdul Aziz, 15, Fatma, 12, Abdullah, 9, and Sulaiman, 5.
The relative said: “She obtained a land grant and took a loan to build a house for her family but her dream was not fulfiled. She was working the whole week from 8am to 1pm and, at the weekends, she was studying at a computer college in Dubai to get her diploma degree. We will be the family for the six children, all of us will stay side by side with them till the end.” he added.
