Sharjah: Two women were found beheaded in the parking lots of Al Wahda street in Sharjah a week ago, according to a Blackberry messenger note.

A Sharjah police official said it is a rumour sent by users of Blackberry messenger.

The official said the message mentioned the heads were found with the bodies in a bin behind a supermarket.

"We heard about this rumour. Our operations room received many phone calls from the public inquiring about a horrifying crime that happened this week in a busy road at day time," he said.

"We are investigating the issue. The moment we catch the original sender of such horrendous messages, he or she will face severe punishment," the official said.

He said spreading such rumours among public can lead to long term imprisonment, as it can spreads panic among the community and the society.
