Best practices under review as World Security Forum begins in Abu Dhabi
The World Security Forum began on Tuesday morning, with an eminent line up of experts from all over the world converging at Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
Abu Dhabi: The World Security Forum began on Tuesday morning, with an eminent line up of experts from all over the world converging at Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
In his welcome speech, Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE Interior Minister, reiterated the UAE's commitment in becoming a country that possesses one of the world's best emergency systems with a high readiness to carry out timely and efficient rescue work. The forum will focus on catastrophe and disaster management.
"The World Security Forum is of great importance in strengthening efforts to upgrade security systems in the region and in exchanging expertise with specialised establishments concerned," the minister said, in the speech read out by Lieutenant General Saif Al Shaafar, Undersecretary of the Interior Ministry, on his behalf.
Experts are to review current best practices and technology and present a number of dramatic case studies of recent real-life catastrophe and disasters.
