'Art Dubai has yet again provided a powerful platform for a cultural and artistic dialogue between the east and the west'
Dubai: A total of 18,000 visitors flooded through the gates of Art Dubai this year. The event is slated as the region's largest annual cultural show.
Held from 16-20 March, Art Dubai welcomed 72 galleries to the event, with buyers including international and regional museums and established and new collectors from the Middle East, Europe and US.
"Art Dubai, this year, has yet again provided a powerful platform for a cultural and artistic dialogue between the east and the west.
"The participation of art galleries from both global and regional centres of art, representing over 30 countries, made it an enriching experience for everyone who attended the event. We have been very encouraged by the increased participation of Emirati artists, which points to the growing vibrancy of the art scene in the UAE," said Ahmad Humaid Al Tayer, Governor of DIFC.
