Abu Dhabi: The parents of school-bully victim Loujain Hussain will meet this Wednesday with Adec officials to determine whether the child will return to the school where she was attacked.

Representatives from the Abu Dhabi school will also attend the meeting, an official from Adec confirmed to Gulf News.

Loujain, 11, was subject to a brutal bullying incident last April when she was attacked by fourth grade students during school recess.

She remained in a coma for around three weeks at Shaikh Khalifa Medical City and suffered brain haemorrhage and permanent damage to the left-field vision in both of her eyes.

According to Loujain’s brother, Mahran Hussain, 22, the school refused to take her back because they did not want to take responsibilty for her.

The boys who bullied the schoolgirl remain in the school.

The school have refused to confirm or deny the family’s claim.

However, an Adec’s official said the family’s claim is untrue, despite Loujain being out of school.

Meanwhile, Loujain’s family are pursuing a formal complaint with Adec, they have refrained from talking any further about the problem until the legal proceedings are completed.

“We will proceed with the legal option, as the school has no right to deny Loujain enrolment,” said Mansour Lootah, a lawyer handling Loujain’s case.
