As passenger traffic increases during the peak summer season, new high-tech services have been introduced to ensure the highest levels of traveller satisfaction at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

In efforts to offer travellers an exclusive experience, the Abu Dhabi Airports Company (Adac) presented the world’s first National Geographic interactive reality screen at Terminal 1’s transit area allowing passengers to experience near-live visuals.

As part of a live augmented reality campaign from National Geographic, travellers will have an opportunity to interact with various types of animals and creatures and expand their knowledge.

“Adac is honoured to have been given the opportunity to host a first in the world augmented reality screen for National Geographic. We are committed to delivering unique travelling experiences with high-quality services for passengers and will continuously strive to present new and innovative technologies to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction,” said Ahmad Al Haddabi, chief operations officer of Adac.

The interactive screen at the airport’s Terminal 1 is 2.5 by 4 metres in size allowing 40,000 passengers to enjoy their travelling experience.

National Geographic has promoted natural and cultural conservation throughout its campaigns and programmes since 1888 with a mission to support geography education and new media.
