Abu Dhabi Police move to create a more humane ambiance for prison visits

Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Police Headquarters have set the visiting hours to the correction facilities in Al Ain, Al Wathba and Al Mafrqa facilities as follows:

 Al Ain and Al Wathba
Saturday to Thursday from 8am to 2pm
Friday from 8am to 12pm
Additional visiting hours on Friday, Saturday and Monday from 3pm to 5pm

Al Mafraq Juvenile Centre
Saturday and Monday from 8am to 2pm and from 3pm to 5pm
Friday from 8am to 12pm and from 3pm to 5pm 

Colonel Mohammad Al Zaabi, director of correction facilities, explained that visits on Sunday will be assigned to males and females who hold visiting permit from the public prosecution's office. Monday will be assigned for women alone wishing to visit both genders.

 

Al Zaabi added that Tuesday will be assigned for lawyers to visit both genders and Wednesday for Embassies' employees to also visit both genders.

 

As for Al Mafraq Juvenile Centre, Al Zaabi said that visits for both genders on Friday will be assigned for foreign visitors while Saturday for Arab men and Tuesday for Arab women visitors. All visits are for both genders.

 

Visits are carried out in humane ambiance that is convenient for both visitors and prisoners. Visitors are transferred in environment friendly cars from the Police Station to the visiting area.
