Abu Dhabi Indian School (ADIS) played host to the Inter-School Athletic Meet for boys and girls on different dates at the newly-laid synthetic track. More than eight schools in the UAE took part in the girls' event in the 14th inter-school meet. It was declared open by Mariam Al Khoory. Certificates and trophies were distributed by Vinu Singh, wife of the Indian Ambassador K.C. Singh.

Nine schools participated in the 16th Inter-School Athletic Meet for Boys which was declared open by Dr. A.H. Dawood Al Azdi.
There were plenty of events under each category for boys and girls. The overall Championship Trophy for the girls was won by Abu Dhabi Indian School followed by Indian Islahi Islamic School. The third position was secured by Islamia English School, Abu Dhabi.

In the boys category, once again the overall Championship Trophy went to Abu Dhabi Indian School followed by Indian Islahi Islamic School and Indian School, Al Ain. After the Cluster and the Zonal meet, two children representing Abu Dhabi Indian School will go for the National meet to be held in Chennai, India, from December 26-29. The children representing the school for the national meet will be Nidhi Alwa and Dheeraj Kumar Gopal.

In the Inter-School Swimming contests held at Al Khaleej National School, Dubai, ADIS once again displayed an outstanding performance by girls winning the overall championship trophy. The school, however, secured second position in the boys' category.

Among the girls, Jyotsna Shenoy and Priyanga Sajendran were declared individual champions in Senior and Inter category. New records were set by Vinur Kaul in 25 mts backstroke and 25 mts freestyle. Priyanga also set a new record in the 50 mts freestyle. Among the boys, Jasvin and Sanket were declared individual champions in Colt and Mini category. The school set a new record in 4x50 mts freestyle relay and 4x25 mts medley relay
