Dubai: The Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation (MBRF) has launched the sixth edition of its ‘A Book in Minutes’ initiative.

The initiative helps avid readers in the Arab world stay updated with the latest titles from publishers around the world.

It involves translating and publishing summaries of influential and acclaimed international books in Arabic. The synopses offer a quick-reference of the books’ overarching message in a matter of minutes.

The initiative was launched in 2013 and has translated almost 20 books so far.

MBRF has received dozens of new reader requests from companies and institutions within the private and public sector for inclusion in the initiative’s mailing list.

The latest edition has summarised three books, aimed towards the youth and their careers.

The books include The 80/20 Principle: The Secret to Achieving More with Less by Richard Koch, which covers successful management styles; Modern Manners: Tools to Take You to the Top by Dorothea Johnson and Liv Tyler; and Creative Confidence: Unleashing the Creative Potential Within Us All by Tom Kelley and David Kelley.

MBRF Managing Director Jamal Bin Huwaireb said MBRF “seeks to grow the readership base in Dubai and the wider region through inculcating the practice of reading among our young people. This can be achieved by helping potential and regular readers overcome obstacles and ease their access to books. Facilitating public reach to information will lead to the advancement of society — intellectually, morally and scientifically.”
