Dubai: More than 600 jobs will be up for grabs for all nationalities in a job fair at the Al Safa Sports Hall on November 11.

The Filipino Human Resources Practitioners Association-UAE (Fil-HR), an organisation of more than 100 hiring professionals in the UAE, will hold its third job fair as part of its ongoing effort to connect jobseekers to employers.

Fil-HR has listed 25 companies in various industries that will participate in the job fair. It is working to add five more companies to the list and 100 more positions by November 11. This, according to Fil-HR, shows the market's good condition.

"The global employment survey finds continuing recovery in the Gulf job market. Although we have all experienced a significant drop in the hiring levels last year, the UAE job market is still relatively healthy," Sheryll Bacay, Fil-HR president, told Gulf News.

Rising trend

According to the July 2011 Antal Global Snapshot, a regular survey of hiring and firing trends of the world's most important employment markets, the UAE's hiring levels have risen to the highest pecentages for a year. The trend continues to rise as more and more employers intend to hire managerial and professional staff in the next quarter.

The retail industry has the biggest need for new recruits at present.

Fil-HR said it is ready to take on a big number of applicants in view of the "overwhelming" response it received in its previous jobs fair in March and June this year.

"This job fair will be bigger and better," Bacay said. "We registered and interviewed more than 3,000 applicants on the first job fair. We have successfully placed a positive number of jobseekers."

Fil-HR advised applicants to prepare at least three curriculum vitaes on that day.

They will be asked to register their personal information in one section.

Applicants will be screened to ensure that they land the jobs that best suit them.

Gates of the Al Safa Sports Hall will open at 8am and will close at 2pm. For more information, please send an e-mail to jobfair@filhr.org.
