Dubai: Two people were killed and a third sustained serious injuries when their sports car hit a truck on Shaikh Zayed Road on Sunday.
Traffic patrols and rescue vehicles rushed to the crash site near the Greens Tunnel after the Academy Bridge on Shaikh Zayed Road and took the dead and injured passengers to hospital.
Police said the driver of the car was speeding before losing control of the vehicle and hitting the truck from behind.
The collision caused the car to overturn and catch fire, resulting in the death and injury of its passengers. The truck driver sustained moderate injuries.
