Sharjah: Police here are investigating two separate accidents which claimed the lives of two men on Thursday.

In the first incident, Sharjah police said that an 18-year-old Emirati youth was killed and his 19-year-old brother were seriously injured after their car collided with road barriers and overturned on a highway in Sharjah.

The fatal victim, identified as S.S.S., was sent to Al Qasimi Hospital to complete procedures before his body was handed over to his family while his brother, identified as H.S.S., was admitted to hospital for treatment.

Police said that around 2.30pm, a Camaro collided with the concrete barrier on the road and the driver lost control of his vehicle which led to the car rolling on Sharjah-Emirates Road.

Preliminary traffic police investigation and the accident’s reconstruction showed that the S.S.S. died instantly.

Meanwhile, in a second incident, a 44-year-old Pakistani national died on the spot after being run over on Sharjah road on Thursday afternoon.

A speeding vehicle ran over the victim while he was was jaywalking on Al Ghobaiba –Industrial Area No.1 Road

The Sharjah police operations room received a tip off at 2.45 pm. reporting that a person had been run over.

When authorities arrived at the scene, the victim was already dead.

The body was moved to Al Kuwaiti Hospital while the driver has been taken to police custody for questioning.
