Ras Al Khaimah : A 15-month-old boy was killed after a family member accidentally reversed a vehicle over him in Al Ghail area in Ras Al Khaimah, said police.
According to police, the toddler was playing outside in the garage on Tuesday night and was behind the car. The family member did not notice that the toddler was behind the car and reversed over him.
The driver stopped after they heard the screams of family members.
Ras Al Khaimah Police said that it was an accident and they do not place blame on the family as a result of the severe trauma that they go through in such cases.
“The incident happened unintentionally,” the police said.
The boy was taken to hospital but died before arrival.
Ras Al Khaimah Police are investigating the incident.
Meanwhile, An Asian man drowned at a Ras Al Khaimah beach and police said they are investigating the incident.
Police said that initial investigations show that the deceased was an Asian expatriate in his 30s.
Police and civil defence officials rushed to the beach off Sha’am after receiving calls about a body floating in the water.
