Ras Al Khaimah: Two children and an Asian national sustained serious to moderate injuries Monday in a collision involving three vechicles on Shaikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street here.

Captain Mohammad Al Bahar, who heads the Traffic Planning Section at the RAK Traffic and Licensing Department said the car in which the two children were travelling was on the right lane of the street with a mini bus behind it. The driver of the car was shocked as another car came from the street shoulder and hit it, causing both the vehicles to crash against the minibus.

Captain Al Bahar said the children and the driver of the car suffered moderate to serious injuries and were taken in an ambulance to Saqr Hospital for treatment. He said that the three vehicles were also seriously damaged and that police forces and ambulances arrived at the scene once the accident was reported.

Captain Al Bahar said the traffic laws had been created for the safety of the drivers and the street users. Drivers should adhere to the rules and regulations. He said that entering the street from the street shoulder was the key mistake the driver of the second car committed which caused the major accident.
