Snake causes panic in RAK public school
Authorities trying to find and kill reptile
The serpent created chaos in the school and management ordered the students to stay away from where it was seen.
The school management reported the case to the emirate's Civil Defence Department, which sent its vehicles and teams of rescuers to the school premises to find the snake and kill it.
Civil defence teams searched the entire school but failed to find it — the teams spent hours searching for the snake.
Precautions
After the civil defence teams lost all hope of finding the snake, they urged the school management to take all precautionary measures, to be extremely careful and to report to the department if the snake is spotted.
The civil defence teams urged the school management to report to the emirate's Municipality and spray the school with chemicals to rid the building of the snake and any other harmful creatures that might be present in the school.
Once the families of the students received the news, they picked up their children, fearing that the snake could appear at any moment in the school.
The school management reported the case to the emirate's Educational Zone, which directed the school management to be extremely careful and to update the zone with any developments on the situation.
A senior official at the RAK Educational Zone said that the zone will coordinate with the authorities to handle the case of the reptile, which could reappear in the school at any moment.
The official said that the snake was initially spotted by a group of students who alerted their teachers during the assembly hour and that the teachers reported the case to the school principal and management.
