Ras Al Khaimah: An Emirati pilot died on Monday after his Hawk military trainer aircraft fighter crashed in Ras Al Khaimah, the general command of the armed forces said.
A statement carried by WAM said he was on a routine training mission.
Ras Al Khaimah police sources told Gulf News pilot First Lieutenant Majid Ahmad Al Naqbi from UAE Air Force died when his plane crashed in Al Baih Valley at around 1.30pm.
While investigations at the accident site are on, Al Naqbi's body "will be buried on Tuesday in Khor Fakkan", police said.
