Beirut: The Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation on Saturday distributed winter aid to 4,000 refugee families affected by blizzards in the town of Arsal in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley.

The aid comes within the framework of the Foundation’s winter programme, which is part of the UAE Compassion campaign (Tarahmu). An official source at the Khalifa Foundation said that the organisation sent 40 trucks loaded with aid to the town of Arsal carrying tents, mattresses, blankets and winter clothing for people of all ages.

He added that the campaign will continue in Lebanon, targeting the delivery of aid to 20,000 families. He pointed out that the foundation’s team was able to reach the high mountains of Lebanon.
