Ras Al Khaimah: Ras Al Khaimah police on Friday rescued four foreign visitors, who got stranded in a valley of Al Jais Mountain of Ras Al Khaimah on Thursday.

The two men and two women were on their way to the top of the mountain, which is about 1,900 metres above sea level, when they became lost.

Brigadier Mohammad Al Nubi, Deputy Commander in Chief of the Ras Al Khaimah Police, said that the operation room was informed by residents of the incident at 1.30pm on Friday. The police were told that the tourists had started their journey in the valley on Thursday but could not find their way back.

A police helicopter found the visitors after a five-hour search by a rescue team. A police officer climbed to the location and rescued the quartet.

“All of them were found very exhausted and taken to the hospital after first aid was given to them,” said the police official.

Brigadier Al Nubi urged people to comply with safety requirements while visiting the valleys in the mountains.
