Fire breaks out in Sharjah furniture warehouse
Firefighting team prevents blaze at warehouse in Industrial area from spreading
Dubai: Sharjah's Civil Defence teams on Tuesday battled a fire which broke out in a furniture warehouse in Industrial Area 4.
No casualties were reported.
The fire, which broke out at 1:43pm, was controlled by firefighters who managed to prevent it from spreading to nearby warehouses and buildings.
Brigadier Abdullah Al Suwaidi, Director General of Civil Defence Department in Sharjah, said: "The operations room received information that a fire ignited in a warehouse in the industrial area. Civil Defence teams immediately arrived at the scene and managed to put out the fire in less than 15 minutes with the help of Dubai Civil Defence, water tanks and quick intervention units."
