Driver without licence killed in road accident

Vehicle swerved and rammed into a lamp post

Ras Al Khaimah: A Bangladeshi national was killed in a road accident yesterday when his vehicle rammed into a lamp post in a remote area of Adhan.

The 26-year-old victim, M.A, does not hold a driving licence.

The victim was driving on the Adhan Road, when he swerved and hit the lamp post. Lieutenant Colonel Ahmad Jasem, Chief of the Traffic Section in Al Digdaga Police Station said that the reason why the driver swerved is still unknown. He said that the victim was officially pronounced dead at the scene.

Lieutenant Colonel Jasem said the public must obtain driving licences and never take charge of a vehicle unless they are fully qualified. He added that drivers must follow the rules of the road. The victim's body was sent to the morgue and the will later be handed over to his family for burial.
