Driver dies in crash after losing control in Ras Al Khaimah

Ras Al Khaimah: An Emirati died on Tuesday in a horrific road accident after he lost control of the steering. His vehicle overturned several times in the remote area of Shoukah Al Munaei, south of Ras Al Khaimah.
The 23-year-old victim Khalil Abdullah Karam was driving alone when he lost control of his car.
A senior officer at the emirate's Traffic and Licensing Department said that the department reported the road accident and requested back up to handle the accident.
The officer said that the emirate's authorities dispatched civil defence vehicles, and ambulances from Kadrah Police Station to the accident scene.
Rescue team
Civil defence rescuers pronounced the Emirati dead on the spot, but could not reach the victim's body trapped in the destroyed vehicle.
The officer said that the emirate's authorities used hydraulic cutters to reach the victim.
Authorities on the scene closed the street on which the accident was reported and initiated an operation to release the body which took a few hours, following which the street was reopened for traffic.
The officer stressed that the victim's vehicle was completely damaged and was left at the accident scene to be moved later.
