Dubai: Dubai Metro services are now back to normal operations after this morning’s disruption.
The RTA said on Twitter: “Dubai Metro service is back to normal. Thank you for taking the time to communicate with RTA.”
An earlier, more detailed message on the service restriction, read: “We thank you for your feedback and we apologise to Dubai Metro commuters for any inconvenience caused.
“However, Safety is our primary concern and as part of our regular checks and measures we hold commuter Metro services between stations if necessary for a brief period. RTA is providing buses to transport passengers between these stations.”
Commuters faced a travel headache on Monday morning due to disruptions.
Trains from Dubai Marina station were only operating a shuttle service to Nakheel, heading towards Rashidiya.
Passengers were asked to disembark at Nakheel and wait for another service to continue on towards Rashidiya – although hundreds were left confused as to which service to take.
Services towards Jebel Ali were also disrupted.
One passenger said: “No-one had any idea what was happening, the announcements didn’t match what was happening with the trains with confused people even further.”
