Sharjah: A vehicle crashed into a lamp post on University City Road, near the Australian School on Wednesday, injuring at least one person.
Anjad patrols rushed to the scene and rescued the passenger, who sustained moderate injuries.
Lieutenant Colonel Ahmad Bin Darwish, Head of Anjad at Sharjah Police, said that the crash was caused due to speeding.
"The man was speeding and did not notice that the vehicle in front of him had slowed down. He then swerved the car and crashed into a lamp post," Darwish said.
Another crash happened on the same road but in the opposite lane, after motorists slowed down to look at the site of the first crash.
"A man slowed down his vehicle, and the female motorist driving behind him failed to notice. She then crashed into his vehicle," added Lt Col Bin Darwish.
