Dubai: A car caught fire near the Airport Tunnel at 3pm on Sunday causing a temporary closure and diversion of traffic at the tunnel entrance leading from Rashidiya to Qusais.
According to Dubai Police’s Traffic Department, the driver of the car stopped on the side of the road in the Sharjah direction when he realised his car was overheating. After he pulled over and got out of the car, it caught fire.
The fire was extinguished in a short time and the road was opened for traffic by 3:40pm, police said. There were no reported injuries.
