Ras Al Khaimah: The last person to die in Ras Al Khaimah only a couple of hours before the new year dawned was 18-year-old Emirati Mohammad Ali Saeed. He was killed in a road accident between Saqr Hospital and Said Hospital.
The victim's brother, Ahmad, also sustained serious injuries and their mother suffered moderate injuries. Their car collided with a four-wheel-drive vehicle in which two other Emiratis, identified as A.S and A.S, also sustained serious injuries.
Intensive care
A senior officer at the Ras Al Khaimah Traffic and Licensing Department said the injured were taken to Saqr Hospital, where at least three were admitted to the ICU.
Police launched an investigation into the accident as the information they had received contained conflicting reports.
Police also studied the accident scene in an effort to determine whose responsibility and mistake it was.
The two families involved in the accident are disputing fault.
