The misuse of public property is a growing concern, according to Gulf News reader K. V. Shams Al Deen.
The community reporter said: "This [photograph] reflects the action of a few anti-social elements in Sharjah. The bench was fixed to the ground with 16 strong screws in the public seating area facing Khalid Lagoon, at the end of
Al Qasba. But a few months ago, a gang of students pulled up the chair and threw it into the canal. This kind of destruction must be stopped."
