Pamphlets, leaflet stickers at doorstep vexes International City residents
As residents of the China cluster in International City, we have been experiencing an irritating and highly inconvenient practice.
Every day, I receive approximately five leaflets, either poked through my front door or stuck to the door with various forms of glue.
As a respectful resident, I take the time to remove them, but it is tiring and irritating to be scraping rubbish off my door each week.
These hard-to-remove stickers are also to be found in the elevator and are not removed by the building management. To add to the mess, there is a ridiculous amount of graffiti in various languages all over the building, which really makes the area look messy.
My parents are visiting soon from the UK and I am actually embarrassed to show them where I live, because of this.
Our building is cleaned once a week by the management, but the stickers are not removed and the security personnel do nothing to stop people from indulging in this practice.
There are phone numbers listed on the stickers and graffiti. Why are these people not being contacted to be warned to stop or face prosecution?
More should be done by the relevant authorities about this situation, especially if these people are in breach of advertising regulations.
There is only so much the tenants can do.
