This week’s theme is, ‘Old Timers’ and it covers our senior pets as well as animals who have been waiting for a long time to find a home.

Peter - Sandy Paws

Peter is seven years old. He was left behind when his family left the UAE last summer. He is very affectionate and loving. Good with other cats and just a great companion. For more information about Peter, please click here or contact Sandy Paws on covill@eim.ae

Ginger - 38 Smiles

Ginger was found with her face and body covered with burn wounds. She spent the whole summer at the vet recovering from her ordeal. She was later spayed and fully vaccinated and only recently was lucky enough to find a foster home. She has now started to show her true colours: friendly, loving and quite playful. Ginger loves to be petted and enjoys cuddles. For more information about Ginger, please click here or contact 38 Smiles on info@38smiles.com

Nelli - Dubai Animal Welfare Society (DAWS)

Nelli is about eight years old and getting grey on the head. Nelli is sweet, good with other dogs and friendly with people; still not tested with cats. We would like to rehome Nelli into a quiet household where he can enjoy the rest of his days, gets cuddled and loved. For more information on Nelli, please click here or contact DAWS on info.daws@gmail.com

Charlize - Dubai Animal Welfare Society - (DAWS)

Charlize is a gentle senior female who had quite a rough life and is now looking for a calm retirement home. She is a big 45kg teddy bear, needs a villa with garden and preferably no other animals — dogs would have to be individually tested. Charlize has a sensitive skin that needs to be looked after, especially in the hot summer months. Her ears have been cropped many years ago in case you are wondering about the looks of them. For more information on Charlize, please click here or contact DAWS on info.daws@gmail.com

Estella - Dubai Animal Welfare Society ( DAWS)

Estella was picked up from a villa where she was locked in along with a number of other dogs for the past 10 days with no one attending to them. Her owner has allegedly left the country and her and the other dogs behind. Estella is an absolute sweetheart. She’s very social with other dogs, good with cats and loves people. For more information about Estella, please click here or contact DAWS on info.daws@gmail.com

Cherry - Ras Al Khaimah Animal Welfare Centre (RAK AWC)

Large Cherry is a wonderful, well adjusted lady. She is great fun to be around as she enjoys the company of any person and all animals as far as we can tell! Observers often think that she is a little shy at first, but we think it is just her good manners, patiently waiting to be given her commands. She is a very affectionate and people orientated dog. For more information about Cherry, please click here or contact RAK AWC on 050 4873 922 or info@rakawc.com

Beanie - Ras Al Khaimah Animal Welfare Centre (RAK AWC)

It is sometimes hard to believe that Beanie was once a rather shy little pup, unsure of new people and situations. Nowadays he is a beautiful, energetic and playful young dog that is loved by everyone at the Centre. His lively and friendly personality means that he gets along with everyone - be it people, other dogs or even cats. For more information about Beanie, please click here or contact RAK AWC on 050 4873 922 or info@rakawc.com

Bailey - SNIFF Middle East

After facing a very hard start, Bailey is now looking for a loving home. Bailey is around five years old and a Saluki purebred. He is a gentle big boy, elegant and classic in his walk and loves to give a sniff to all that walk by. For more information on Bailey, please click here or contact SNIFF Middle East on jasrab18@hotmail.com

Bart - Feline Friends Dubai

Bart, originally found at a construction site, was taken in as a kitten and shortly after he was found to have the Bartonellosis virus so severely, the amount of treatment seemed torturous for such a wee one. But Bart won this battle! A beautiful Mau, he loves scratches behind his ears but allows touch across his whole body. He likes to chat with you as you are preparing his breakfast, but quickly quiets down. During transport he is completely silent, and shut out of bedrooms at night, he contentedly finds his own sleeping spot and doesn’t stir until morning. He is the ultimate in ease to care for, it only takes time to coax out of his shell for affection and love. For more information about Bart, please click here or contact Feline Friends on 050 3943525 or info@felinefriendsdubai.com

Risa - Rosso Carota Rescues Cats (RCRC)

Risa was rescued at the beginning of this year, on the last days of pregnancy and with a bad old fracture of the ulna and radius. Given that she is very friendly and not a young cat, we assume that Risa was in the past a domestic cat, who was thrown onto the street. She successfully gave birth to five kittens and then she underwent two surgeries. Now she’s fine, but has a slight limp. She’s 7,5 years old, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed. She doesn’t require special attention, is friendly, quiet, relaxing and sleeps almost 18 hours a day. For more information about Risa, please click here or contact RCRC on natalyasubbota@gmail.com

Jooja - Rosso Carota Rescues Cats (RCRC)

Jooja is a mix domestic short hair/British blue with silky fur. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed. At the beginning of 2013 she showed up out of nowhere in a parking lot in Sharjah. She didn’t look like a street cat so it’s possible she was thrown out because she was pregnant and very friendly. Two weeks after being rescued she delivered wonderful kittens but all the sudden changes in her life and the need to protect her babies from danger had a negative impact on her character, causing her to become unfriendly against pets and people alike. Her temporary foster father has done an amazing job in socialising her, surrounding her with love and care to help her regain her confidence and become friendly again. For more information on Jooja, please click here or contact RCRC on natalyasubbota@gmail.com

Rosie & Stella - Senior Dog’s Project Dubai

Rosie and Stella are purebred Rottweillers, age nine and ten. They are very good with people and alright for homing with the right dog. They must be together though as poor Stella is blind and relies on Rosie as her ‘sight hound’. For more information on Rosie & Stella, please click here or contact Senior Dog’s Project on seniordogproject_dxb@yahoo.com

Zach & Mollie - Senior Dog’s Project Dubai

Zach and Molly, both 15, male and female respectively. Both healthy for their age, vaccinated, castrated, friendly with dogs and people. Mindy - Animal Action Abu Dhabi

Mindy is looking for her forever home. She is a 10-week-old female. She is the most scared of her litter so once in a new home she will need some time to warm up to you. She would probably love to have another cat sibling in the home to play and cuddle with and feel safe with. For more information about Mindy, please click here or contact Animal Action on animal.action@hotmail.com

Chewy - Sharjah Cats and Dogs Shelter (SCADS)

Chewy may not be the prettiest German Shepherd out there, but she still deserves a loving home! Chewy came from a horrible place where she was beaten by kids and attacked by other dogs. Eventually the “owners” decided she was a useless GSD and dumped her. She has a missing tip on one of her ears, probably bitten off by another dog, and an odd looking small muzzle. Aside from that she’s perfectly healthy. For more information about Chewy, please click here or contact SCADS on 06 5453985 or scads.shj@gmail.com

Winter - Animal Action Abu Dhabi

Our pretty-boy Winter is looking for his forever home. Winter needs a home with a garden and a family. He loves people and dogs. He likes having a fuss made over him and he likes to be kept busy. Simba - Animal Action Abu Dhabi

Simba is looking for his forever home. Simba is used to living with other dogs so he’d like a home with at least one other dog. He’s very calm, well behaved and friendly. He also requires a garden being since he is a large sized dog. He is used to being inside a home where he has an array of places to sleep, he can sit on the couch whenever he likes, he is always in company and he is under no circumstances a guard dog or outdoor dog. For more information about Simba, please click here or contact Animal Action on animal.action@hotmail.com

Jameela - Animal Action Abu Dhabi

This is the Beautiful Jameela. She has come a long way since we first met her, and now loves to cuddle up with her foster family and play with her foster siblings. It would be great if she could be adopted with Warad - a male Saluki as in their foster home they have become the best of friends and love to play together and chase each other. This beautiful girl needs a family who can spend lots of time giving her love and confidence without forcing her. For more information on Jameela, please click here or contact Animal Action on animal.action@hotmail.com

Warad - Animal Action Abu Dhabi

Warad is great with children and very friendly. He was a family pet and misses being in a family. Warad would make a wonderful addition to any family. He would love to have another doggy in the house or be adopted with his best friend Jameela, they are inseperable! Saluki male. He is a lovely dog that needs a home with a garden and kind and patient parents. He is a very sweet and well behaved dog but he is a little fearful of new things- such as going inside. For more information on Warad, please click here or contact Animal Action on animal.action@hotmail.com

Snowy - Animal Action Abu Dhabi

Snowy is the little puppy we rescued with the four broken bones in her paw and arm. She is now fully grown. She is microchipped, dewormed, and vaccinated. Snowy is deaf so needs an experienced family who will know how to train and communicate with her. She needs a foster home in a villa. She is good with dogs and children and is OK with cats. For more information about Snowy, please click here or contact Animal Action on animal.action@hotmail.com

Ginger - Animal Action Abu Dhabi

Ginger is looking for her forever home. She’s a lovely dog who would like to be an only pet with no small children. She is superb for any couple or older family. No fuss, fully trained, and she makes a wonderful movie-companion to cuddle up with on the couch in the evenings. Suitable for apartment or villa. For more information on Ginger, please click here or contact Animal Action on animal.action@hotmail.com

Buster - Animal Action Abu Dhabi

Buster is looking for a foster or forever home. He is a really sweet boy but with insecurities. He has been in boarding for so long that he now feels more secure there. We really would like to get him out as soon as possible. Buster is a large, male, 2.5-year-old dog. Vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He chooses which dogs he likes, it doesn’t matter what the gender, colour or size is. He picks his friends at random. He is good with children. Mustang - Wags and Purrs

Mustang is a seven-month-old cross British short hair. He was rescued suffering from a severe flu, open wounds to his side and some scratches all over his body. He has since then been treated, vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, front-lined and dewormed — the whole nine yards. He is a loving and cuddly boy who enjoys attention and likes to play with other cats.
