These pets have been waiting a long time to find a home.

Millie

Centre: Feline Friends Dubai

Millie is still desperately seeking a forever home. She is a beautiful, loving cat who is a year and a half old and blind in one eye. Found as a kitten on the side of a road after being hit by a car, with countless broken bones, she has been nursed back to full health by her foster family over the past year. Although she had to have one eye removed, she’s never stopped adoring life. She’ll shower you with affection and she never stops purring. Her favourite things to do are playing with toys and relaxing in her treehouse. For more information about Millie, please click here or contact Feline Friends on 050 4510058 or info@felinefriendsdubai.com

Donny

Centre: Sandy Paws

We found Donny emaciated, weighing 1.5 kilograms and with an ulcerated eye, which the vet couldn’t save so they had to remove it. He is now a chubby and happy two-year-old cat who loves people and is great with children. He is vaccinated and neutered and doesn’t care that he has only one eye. For more information about Donny, please click here or contact Sandy Paws at covill@eim.ae

Snowy

Centre: Animal Action

Snowy is in an urgent need of a foster or permanent home. She was a little puppy when we rescued her, with four broken bones in her paw and arm. She is now fully grown and is 9.5 months old. She is microchipped, dewormed, and vaccinated. Snowy is deaf and so she needs an experienced family who will know how to train and communicate with her. For more information about Snowy, please click here or contact Animal Action on animal.action@hotmail.com

Raza

Centre: SOS For Emirates Dogs

Raza was rescued from death row in a terrible state having endured an accident that rendered him paralysed in his two back legs and unable to control his bowel movements. The first vet we took him to deemed him inoperable and advised us to put him down. We did not want to give up on Raza so we got a second opinion. The vet saw a very slim chance of recovery but gave us the option of operating with little hope of success. Despite the high cost of surgery, Dh9,000, we did not want to give up on Raza so we went ahead. Almost a month later Raza is walking on three legs and is showing promising improvement in the fourth. For more information on Raza, please click here or contact SOS For Emirates Dogs on emirates.dogs@hotmail.com

Angel

Centre: RAK Animal Welfare Centre

Despite her horrible start in life Angel is an absolute darling. She was rescued from the side of the road where someone was intentionally trying to run her down alongwith her brother. Unfortunately, her brother did not survive. Angel was left with two broken hind legs. Now following extensive surgery and many months of rehabilitation, she has a second chance in life and is fully recovered. You could never tell that a couple of months ago the beautiful girl could barely walk. She is up and running. Like any other young dog Angel is active and very playful. Popeye

Centre: Senior Dogs Project Dubai

This is Popeye. Would you believe he is 15 years old? He doesn’t look it and doesn’t act like it either. He is partially blind but that doesn’t seem to impede him at all and he is great with people and other dogs alike. Vasya

Centre: Rosso Carota Rescues Cats

Hi, I’m Vasya. I lived in the fish market in Umm Al Quwain. I was a very affectionate kitten, and always looked at people to see who would take me home. The days passed, I grew up, but nobody hurried to pick me up. The kind salesmen sometimes fed me fish, but most people passing by chased me away and even kicked me. It was painful. I could not chew, my eyes began to see badly. I looked terrible and my life was getting worse. I lost weight, I could barely move my paws. But then I was rescued and brought to the vet. I had multiple fractures in my jaw and a perforated ulcer in my eye. I had cosmetic surgery so my eye looks nice but I am partially blind. And now I look like a normal cat. I’m two years old, but as cheerful and playful as a kitten. Healthy, vaccinated, microchipped and castrated. I even know how to walk on a leash. Fanta

Centre: Sharjah Cat and Dog Shelter (SCADS)

Help us save Fanta the Malinois! This girl has one of the saddest backgrounds amongst our dogs. Ever since she was a puppy, Fanta was regularly beaten, electrocuted, and on top of everything, had her teeth filed. She was a nervous wreck when she was brought to us, but we worked with her daily to get her to trust people again. She is much better now. For more information about Fanta, please click here or contact SCADS on 06 5453985 or scads.shj@gmail.com
