The idea this week is to showcase breeds of dogs and cats that originate from this area. For some strange reason these are often overlooked and the welfare groups are full of these breeds. This theme has attracted a lot of input from the groups.

Luna - Feline Friends
This lovely girl had been abandoned in a cat box on the pavement at the beginning of summer. She was very heavily pregnant and would have died from heat exhaustion if she hadn’t been picked up by a Feline Friends volunteer and quickly taken to the vet, where she was given fluids and pronounced healthy despite her ordeal. She immediately settled in her new foster home as she has a very sweet, laid back nature, and very soon gave birth to five kittens. She’s been a model mother, but now it’s time for Luna to find her own forever home.
