Moscow: Russia’s foreign minister is calling on Germany to provide information on the investigation into the temporary disappearance of a teenage German-Russian girl and denies that Moscow is interfering in the matter.
Russian news media have devoted extensive coverage to the case in which the 13-year-old went missing for 30 hours. Rumours spread that she was abducted and raped by foreign-looking men but German police say they have no evidence of that.
Germany has cautioned Russia against using the case for political purposes.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Thursday “if the responsible organs of Germany presented the necessary information, there would be fewer misunderstandings.”
He also denied interfering in German affairs and said Germany criticises Russian developments “significantly more often” than Russia comments on Germany, state news agency Tass reported.
