Amsterdam:  The 9-year-old Dutch boy who is the sole survivor of a plane crash in Libya has arrived back in the Netherlands on a medical evacuation flight and was quickly escorted away by ambulance.

Ruben van Assouw was found unconscious but alive in wreckage of the crash that killed 103 people on Wednesday, including both Ruben's parents and his 11-year-old brother.

An Associated Press cameraman saw the medical evacuation plane carrying the boy touch down on Saturday at a military airport in Eindhoven, Netherlands. Due to privacy requests by the boy's relatives, access to the airport was tightly restricted and camouflage nets had been hung from its fences. He was whisked away in an ambulance with darkened windows.

The Dutch Foreign Ministry confirmed the boy's arrival and said it will not comment further on his future plans.
