LAHORE: Federal Minister for Defence Production and Science & Technology Rana Tanvir Hussain has said that India is trying to divert the world attention from Kashmir by escalating tension with Pakistan.

Talking to the media at the opening ceremony of an LED shop in Defence Housing Authority here on Saturday, he said that India was violating human rights by using inhuman tactics to crush the freedom movement of Kashmiris.

“The Indian army has killed more than 110 Kashmiri people and injured thousands others through pellet gun attacks in the occupied valley during the last over two months,” he added.

He said that Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif truly presented the case of Kashmir before the world in his address to the United Nations.

To a question, the minister said India was just blustering otherwise it would not dare attack Pakistan and if it did any blunder, the response of Pakistan would be stronger than Indians expectations.

He said that Pakistan Army is considered one of the best professionals in the world. Pakistan is manufacturing its own fighter aircraft, and it has the best missile system, besides [also] being a nuclear power.

He said that Pakistan even sells small weapons to many countries including the United States and Germany.

To a question about the joint exercises of Pakistan Army and Russian Army, Rana Tanvir said Pakistan wanted good relations with Russia and it would further expand in future.

Responding to a question about Imran Khan’s sit-in plan at Raiwind, the minister advised the PTI chairman to practise serious, issue-based politics. He said that Khan should learn a lesson from his flop rally in Lahore.
