Dr Bibi Ameenah Firdaus Gurib-Fakim’s visit aimed at boosting bilateral ties
Islamabad: President of Mauritius Dr Bibi Ameenah Firdaus Gurib-Fakim began a four-day visit to Pakistan on Sunday, aimed at boosting bilateral ties.
The visit of the Mauritius leader, who is accompanied by a 9-member delegation, is taking place on the invitation of Pakistani counterpart Mamnoon Hussain.
A foreign ministry statement said the two presidents will hold talks on matters of mutual interests as well as regional and international importance.
The statement said close and cordial relations between the two countries are based on mutual identity of views on regional and global issues.
During the visit, the two sides will explore the possibilities of further strengthening existing bilateral ties in various fields of common interest with particular focus on economic and trade relations, it said.
