Multan: The Pakistan Railways Special Azadi Train will depart for Khanpur on Sunday morning after a two-day halt at Multan Cantonment Railway Station. It arrived here on Friday evening.

On its way to Khanpur, the officer incharge of Azadi Train told APP, that the train will make short stops at Shujaabad, Bahwalpur, Samasata, Mubarik Pur, Dera Nawab Sahib and Liaqat Pur railway stations.

The train, which started its journey on August 12 from Margalla Railway Station, has already completed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa route. After touring the Punjab province, it will pass through Sindh and Balochistan provinces to entertain and educate the people about the history and culture of all four provinces of the country, besides that of Gilgit-Baltistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

The Azadi Train’s historical galleries and beautifully decorated cultural floats are attracting a large number of people here at Multan Cantonment Railway Station, since its arrival on Friday evening. During its two-day stay, it will engage the local people in various programmes including musical show, cultural dances and puppet show.

The visitors said the artwork done on the floats of Azadi Train is captivating and gives a complete picture of cultural beauties of all the provinces.

A large number of people took pictures and selfies of the train that depicts replicas of historical monuments of the country such as Mazar-e-Quaid, Faisal Mosque, CPEC model, Bab-e-Khyber and Shahi Qila.

Students from many schools also visited the Azadi Train here at the Railway Station.

Maheen Bibi, a schoolteacher said it was really a great day for the students to learn more about the culture and history of the country.
