Rawalpindi: Four terrorists affiliated with the banned Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) outfit, who were convicted by military courts, have been hanged.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), all these terrorists were involved in carrying out attacks on educational institutions, innocent citizens, armed forces and law enforcement agencies personnel.

All terrorists including Ahmad Ali, Asghar Khan, Haroon Ur Rashid and Gul Rehman were active members of TTP who were involved in different attacks on security agencies and educational institutions as a result of which several security personnel and innocent people were injured and martyred.

Explosive material and weapons have also been recovered from their possession.

The convicts Ahmad Ali, son of Bakhat Karam; Asghar Khan, or Aziz Ur Rehman; Haroon ur Rasheed, or Mian Said Usman; and Gul Rehman, aka Zareen were active members of TTP. They were involved in attacking the Pakistan Armed Forces, law enforcement agencies and the destruction of an educational institution that resulted in death and injuries to soldiers and civilian. They were also in possession of firearms and explosives. The convicts admitted their offences before the magistrate and the trial court. They were awarded a death sentence.
