Islamabad: Ten suspected terrorists believed to have been involved in a suicide attack in Lahore have been killed in an encounter with commandos of the Counter Terrorism Department, media reports said on Saturday.

The reports, quoting sources in the department, said all those killed were affiliated with the banned outfit Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, adding that arms, ammunition, and explosives were recovered during the encounter.

Days after the attack in Lahore on February 13 that left 14 people dead, counter-terrorism personnel apprehended an alleged facilitator of the attack. Late on Friday, the facilitator was taken to Manawan, a suburban area of Lahore, where according to the arrested man explosives had been hidden.

As the counter-terrorism team approached the suspected hideout, it came under attack leading to an exchange of fire in which the ten suspected terrorists including the facilitator were killed, according to the reports.
