Patna: A young woman in Bihar was allegedly made to lick her spit by an influential villager when she went to him with the complaint, saying she had been raped by his son. It’s the second such incident in five days.
According to reports, a 25-year-old woman, a resident of Parbatta in Khagaria district, was ferrying fodder to her cattle in the fields on Saturday afternoon when it suddenly started raining.
Subsequently, she took shelter in the outhouse that belonged to local villager Birendra Chaudhary to escape getting drenched.
“Finding me alone, [the] landlord’s son overpowered and then raped me,” the victim told the police in her complaint petition.
According to her, when she reached the accused father to complain about his son’s act, the latter turned angry instead of listening to her. “In a fit of rage, he locked me in a room, assaulted me and then forced me to lick my spit for bringing this complaint,” the victim alleged, adding the accused also forced her to drink urine.
The victim has registered a case with the women police station in Khagaria district. The police are investigating the case.
This is the second such incident in the past five days. Earlier on Thursday, a low-caste villager was beaten up with slippers and then made to lick his own spit after he entered the house of a village court chief in Bihar in Nalanda district, sparking outrage. Nalanda is the home district of Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar.
