Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala-based martial art expert, K.J. Joseph, who has vowed audiences with his physical prowess in multiple areas, has notched a new achievement, doing 82 push-ups in one minute.

Joseph, who hails from near Erumely in Kottayam district and is presently based in Munnar and associated with an Ayurveda firm, displayed his push-ups feat in front of a large crowd in Kochi on Monday, including Ernakulam district collector, M.G. Rajamanickam.

Joseph is a vegetarian, and fittingly the performance came at the venue of a seminar on naturopathy.

The martial arts expert believes he has broken the world record for the most number of knuckle push-ups in a minute, which is presently credited to American, Ron Cooper who did 79 push-ups in a minute last year.

However, Joseph’s achievement needs validation by the Guinness Book of World Records officials before it is officially accepted.

In the past, Joseph has successfully attempted physical feats, including breaking iron rods with bare hands.
