Tata Group — 1868 A pioneer and a visionary, Jamsetji Tata spearheaded the Group. Today, it has operations in more than 100 countries and exports to 150 more.

Dabur — 1884 Dabur is the fourth-largest FMCG company in India today. It is considered one of the world’s largest natural health care company, with more than 260 products to treat a range of ailments and conditions.

Godrej — 1897 Godrej Group is an Indian conglomerate managed and largely owned by the Godrej family. It operates in industrial engineering, agricultural products, security, appliances, furniture and consumer products.

Rooh Afza — 1907 Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed formulated the recipe of Rooh Afza, a squash made of fruit and vegetable extracts, in 1906 in Uttar Pradesh. The drink is widely consumed during Ramadan.

Vadilal — 1907 Vadilal is the second-largest ice-cream maker in India today. The company is also one of the largest processed food players in India.

Singer Pakistan — 1861 Founded by Issac Merritt Singer in New York, it was introduced to the subcontinent in 1877, bringing a range of sewing machines and appliances. Today, it is South Asia’s largest retail network with more than 750 shops, 140 of which are in Pakistan.

Parle — 1929 Touted as the world’s largest-selling biscuit brand, Parle began manufacturing biscuits in 1939.

Murree Brewery — 1860 The brand was founded by engineer Sir Proby Cautley in the resort town of Murree for British personnel. Murree was one of the first modern beer breweries in Asia.

Dalda Foods — 1930s The largest cooking oil and vanaspati brand in Pakistan is now a household name in the country.

Mitchell’s — 1933 Pakistan’s oldest and largest food company is known for an array of farm-fresh products including fruit drinks, jam, jellies, canned fruits, vegetables and chocolates.

House of Habib — 1841 The company’s story goes back to Bombay (Mumbai). It moved to Pakistan on the request of Mohammad Ali Jinnah. It is known for its banking and finance division but also runs a manufacturing business, oil and gas company.
