Research firms reveal the stupendous rate at which the smartphone market is growing in India. India, the second largest smartphone market globally, is expected to witness a manifold growth in the number of smartphones to over 650 million in the next four years, a study by networking solutions giant Cisco said this month.

The country, also considered one of the world’s fastest growing Internet market, is expected to see the number of tablets hit more than 18 million by 2019, according to the US-based firm’s Visual Networking Index (VNI) global mobile data traffic forecast for 2014 to 2019.

Emarketer, a leading research and analysis firm, has revealed that the world will have two billion smartphone users by 2016. India will be a leading catalyst in this tremendous technological push, as it will overtake USA to become world’s second largest smartphone market with 200 million plus users.
