Patna: Janata Dal United (JD-U) president Sharad Yadav has landed in trouble for his ‘hell’ remarks with the Election Commission registering a case against him for violating the election the model code of conduct. The case has been filed under various sections of Indian Penal Code.

“A case has been registered against Yadav for violating the model code of conduct in his election speeches,” a press release issued by the office of the chief electoral officer, Bihar said on Friday.

Yadav at his election rally in Nalanda district had reportedly told the Hindus and Muslims to vote for the JD-U lest they would find place in hell. “If Hindus don’t vote for the JD-U then they will find place in hell and if the Muslims refuse to vote for the JD-U, then they will be sent to ‘Jahannum’ by the Allah,” Yadav was quoted as having told the voters, prompting the Election Commission to register a case against the JD-U chief.

Yadav is the forth prominent politicians having been booked for hate speeches. Earlier, cases were registered against the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Lalu Prasad for making derogatory remarks against each other in their election rallies on the instruction of the Election Commission.

Shah in his election speech had addressed the RJD chief as “Chara chor” (fodder thief) whereas the latter had addressed former as “nar bhakshi” (man eater), as per an official Press release from the Election Commission. Shah had passed such remark at his election rally held in Begusarai district on September 30 while the RJD president had used foul language against the BJP chief at his election rally held in Jamui district on October 4.

Likewise, the authorities have issued an arrest warrant against controversial All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) lawmaker from Telangana Akbaruddin Owaisi for making provocative remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi at an election rally in Bihar.

The MIM leader in his election speeches had addressed Prime Minister as “shaitan” (devil) and “darinda” (barbarian) in complete violations of the model code. The MIM is contesting six seats in Muslim-dominated Seemanchal region of Bihar.

The political languages being used by the politicians have touches a new low at this election time in Bihar as the content gets really tough between Modi-led National Democratic Alliance and Nitish Kumar-led Grand Secular Alliance.

The Election Commission is also examining the election speech of the PM wherein he had made “reference for Satan” while speaking on RJD president Prasad who soon reacted by terming Modi as a “Super demon”.
