Hyderabad: After celebrating the colourful festival of Sankranti in their native places hundreds of thousands of families were ready to head back to Hyderabad and authorities were making special arrangements to deal with the rush.

All the roads linking Hyderabad to the districts were expected to be clogged with an estimated one million people returning to the city after the festival which came to an end on Tuesday.

Officials were expecting major traffic jams on the Highways linking Hyderabad to Vijayawada and Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh as families travelling on their own vehicles returning to Hyderabad tomorrow. They were also expecting huge rush at the bus stations and the railway stations in the city.
